About
Ballet is FUN! Our Children’s Ballet Program is designed for dancers ages 2–9 interested in ballet, creative movement, and jazz. These enriching dance education classes introduce the aspiring dancer to technical fundamentals, classroom etiquette and art form appreciation. Open registration; request a free trial class below. Children’s Program classes include:
Toddlers & Tutus (24–36 months)
Creative Movement (3–4 years old)
Pre-Ballet (4–6 years old)
Primary Ballet (6–8 years old)
Beginner Jazz (7–9 years old)
Beginner/Intermediate Tap (7–10 years old)
Vitacca Dance offers small class sizes allowing each dancer personalized mentorship.
Placement
Students in our Children’s Program are placed by age.
Classes + Schedule
TERM ONE: August 28–December 21, 2023
TERM TWO: January 8–May 18, 2024
Toddlers & Tutus | ages 24–36 months
Tuesday 4:45–5:15pm | Class length 30 minutes
Thursday 4:30–5:00pm | Class length 30 minutes
The Toddlers and Tutus classes are fun, 30-minute sessions of play-based introduction to ballet fundamentals. Similar to our Children’s Camps, dancers enjoy practicing in tutus, listening to stories, and dancing.
Creative Movement | Ages 3–4
Thursday 5:00–5:45pm | Class length 45 minutes
Friday 4:15-5:00pm | Class length 45 minutes (This class begins Friday, September 22nd)
The introduction of ballet-based movement begins at this young age. Students begin developing their gross motor skills using various types of music, props, and their imagination. Students practice taking instruction, plus direction, in an enriching and artistic environment. Creative Movement classes conclude their training season with an in-school celebration performance day in May for all to enjoy.

This division continues the development of gross motor skills while focusing on the foundation for ballet technique and the introduction to barre work. Students explore working with others, use of space, and the introduction to ballet fundamentals. Pre-Ballet classes will not perform in the Spring production, but will have an in-school celebration performance day in May.
Primary ballet 1 | Ages 6–7
Tuesday 6:00–6:45pm (Ages 6-7) | Class length 45 minutes
Saturday 10:00–11:00am (Ages 6-8) | Class length one hour

Primary ballet 2 | Ages 7.5–8
Tuesday 6:45–7:45pm (Ages 7-8) | Class length one hour

Must be 7 years old as of March 1, 2023
Primary Ballet continues to broaden the student’s ballet vocabulary, coordination, flexibility, alignment, and classroom etiquette. Articulation of the dancer's footwork and the introduction to one-handed barre work is a focus. Students enrolled by January will be eligible to perform in the Spring Production.
Beginning Jazz | Ages 7–9
Thursday 6:15–7:00pm | Class length 45 minutes
*One ballet class required to enroll in Jazz
Our Jazz class is a fun introduction to the techniques of jazz dance. These classes provide a dynamic educational experience for young students.
Beginning/intermediate Tap | Ages 7–10
Monday 6:00–6:45pm | Class length 45 minutes
*One ballet class required to enroll in Tap
Our Tap class is a fun introduction to the techniques of tap dance. These classes provide a dynamic educational experience for young students.
Division A | Ages 8–9
Classes include: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, & Modern
Mandatory: two ballet classes per week
Recommended: all classes
Performance Opportunities: Invitation to Spring Performance and Young Artists Company by audition
$25 Trial Class available for this division

Free Trial Class
We offer free trial classes up to the Primary Ballet levels; students interested in Division A and above are placed via $25 Trial Class. If you are interested in a trial class, please fill out the form below or contact us for more information at HoustonAdmin@VitaccaDance.com or (713) 205-0355.
*Free trial classes are subject to availability. Preferred date/time are subject to class size restrictions. Trial Class for Divisions A and above are $25.
Dress Code
TO PURCHASE
ONSITE: Available at Vitacca Schools while supplies last.
ORDER: Please fill out a Dress Code Order Form and submit to the office via mail, email, or in person. Payments accepted by cash, check, or card.

Tuition Payment
We now accept registration payments through Zelle! Scan the QR code (linked below) in your banking app to send money to pay. Please include a memo that notes what you are paying for. Click here to pay via Zelle
For online registration, please note that PayPal and online payment with a credit card incurs an event platform processing fee. Zelle payment does not incur a fee.
Other Programming
Vitacca Dance's Vocational Training Program is designed for classically focused dancers ages 8–18 featuring pre-professional to professional curriculum. Registration is open throughout the season via a scheduled assessment class.
