Children’s Ballet Program

ABOUT

Vitacca's Children’s Program is designed for dancers ages 3-8 interested in ballet. Students age 3-8 are placed by age. Please contact us for a complimentary trial class: School@Vitacca.org or 713.205.0355 for more information.

Creative Movement | Age 3-4
Thursday 4:45-5:30pm | Class length 45 minutes 

The introduction of ballet-based movement begins at this young age. Students begin developing their gross motor skills using various types of music, props, and their imagination. Students practice taking instruction plus direction in an enriching and artistic environment. Creative Movement classes will not perform in the Spring production, but will have an in-school celebration performance day in May.

Pre-Ballet | Age 5-6
Thursday 5:30-6:15pm | Class length 45 minutes  
Saturday 9:15-10am | Class length 45 minutes  

This Division continues the development of gross motor skills while focusing on the foundation for ballet technique and the introduction to barre work. Students explore working with others, use of space and the introduction to ballet fundamentals. Pre-Ballet classes will not perform in the Spring production, but will have an in-school celebration performance day in May.

Primary | Ages 7-8
Thursday 6:15-7:15pm | Class length one hour
Saturday 10-11am | Class length one hour
*Required one class; Recommended two classes  

Primary continues to broaden the student’s Ballet vocabulary, coordination, flexibility, alignment and classroom etiquette. Articulation of the dancer's footwork and the introduction to one-handed barre work is a focus. Students enrolled by January will be eligible to perform in the Spring Production.

The Vitacca Young Artist Intensive is geared toward aspiring dancers ages 5-10 looking for a focused dance experience.  The Intensive offers two training levels; dancers will be placed by age and skill level. Find out more.
